Bath - Reflections
Annette at The Royal Cresent
What better way to spend a typical “English weather” day than to reflect on our time here in Bath? We have been very blessed with favorable weather most of our time here. Today is a welcome chance to reflect.
This area of England is so beautiful, and we are glad for the extended time we have spent here. The added bonus of a common language and not having to break out Google Translate has been great. That being said, there are some phrases that give us pause: Chips = French Fries, Crisps = Potato Chips, Pants = underwear, Trousers = pants, Bog Roll = toilet paper. To be fair, we, as Americans, have words or phrases that cause confusion to Brits.
The architecture and natural beauty of this region of the United Kingdom are truly captivating, and we have enjoyed many leisurely strolls through the area. Bath ranks very high in our hearts as having the most picturesque countryside walks to date. The favorable weather and the friendly locals we have encountered during our walks have been tremendous.
As our stay in Bath concludes, we are eager to continue our adventures in the United Kingdom and beyond. Winchester, England, is next for us for a five-night stay. Having resolved my dental issue, we plan to rent a car, which is necessary since one of the excursions we have planned is a tour of Highclere Castle. Yes, we will be visiting Downton Abbey, and to say we are eager is an understatement.
More to come soon, including our remaining schedule here in Europe before we head back to Florida.
Until Next Time…
