Winchester 🇬🇧

Annette & I enjoyed our time immensely in the Winchester area this past week, and our tour of Southern England is about to come to a close.

Renting a car and driving here was an experience that warrants a separate post at a later date. While it was occasionally stressful and humorous, I managed to navigate the journey successfully and thoroughly enjoyed the ride over several days.

From Winchester, we visited Oxford, Blenheim Palace, Windsor Castle, and Highclere Castle, which holds a special place in our hearts as fans of the television series Downton Abbey. Additionally, we made a visit to Stonehenge, but upon seeing it from the road, it is literally next to the highway, we decided to save the £59 and enjoyed the ride through the countryside.

England has been a wonderful stop for our 2025 travel plans. Tomorrow, we board a cruise ship here in Southampton (where we are now) for a 28-day cruise. We will be returning to the Baltic Sea for the first two weeks to visit countries that quite honestly sparked our interest in travel to begin with back in 2018. The second half of the cruise is to Norway. We have not been to Norway yet, and what better way to see such a beautiful country? This really is something that was on our bucket list for a while.

Some of my favorite pictures from the week are attached. I will have separate entries of each stop coming shortly. We will have a couple of sea days while on our upcoming cruise to catch up.

Until Next Time…
