A Trip to the British Dentist

Yeah, I am sure anyone with a twisted sense of humor like mine automatically had a vision run in your head from a certain movie that we all know and love.

Oh Behave!

I was hoping that a toothache that had been flaring up with pain and then subsiding could wait until our return to Florida. It started while in Dijon and was tolerable to no pain at all while we remained in France, so far so good. I would have it looked at when we got back. Well the pain came back with a vengeance while in Cheltenham (our previous stop), and I knew it was time to get it taken care of. The fact that we were here in Bath for 28 days helped my odds of getting an appointment.

We found a dentist’s office a short walk from our Airbnb, and I was lucky to get an appointment the next morning. The X-ray showed that I needed a root canal, and again luck was on my side.I got an appointment within a week to see the endodontist who performed the procedure.

My root canal was on Friday. It was painless and pleasant, for a root canal. I guess when your endodontist has a killer British accent and has a great sense of humor, it makes even a root canal pleasant. I could not be happier to have this done. Meeting Dr. Richard and Jordan, his dental assistant, was an added bonus. It may sound like I have a man crush, maybe I do. Having no more pain and enjoying said British accent may have something to do with it.

This was my first “medical need” since starting this full-time Nomad Travel lifestyle, and having funds set aside for this type of situation is a real comfort.

Now I can enjoy my Bangers and Mash, Fish & Chips, Scotch eggs, and Toad in the Hole without any more pain.

Until next….

Jordan & Dr. Richard. Circus Dental in Bath. Happy to have met them, seriously happy!

Just what everyone wants to see the After then Before of my root canal
